Autistic + ND Identity Consultations

with Rachel Boggan, LCSW, ADHD-CCSP, CCTP

and Ruby Tippl, MSW, Supervisee in Social Work

The identity consultation process offers validation, feedback and a space to explore what folks already know about themselves, and provide an opportunity to ask questions, discover new connections, and unpack/reframe experiences through a lens of self-understanding and acceptance.

Consultation sessions are a good fit for people who do not desire or need formal diagnosis to access supports, folks who already have diagnosis, and anyone who is seeking a space for validation, feedback, exploration, and resource mapping.   It also may be a good fit for people who are questioning, and those who want to explore whether or not pursuing a diagnosis may be helpful or needed based on their unique situation and support needs, or those of their loved ones.  It also may be helpful for folks who have had previous evaluation for themselves or for their child, and would like support in making sense of diagnosis and recommendations, as well as identifying neuro-affirming supports.

This process is client-led, which means that we will ask you to share your questions, thoughts, and goals for collaboration in order to focus our time together. Some common areas for exploration and consultation include sensory experience and needs, relationships, language and communication differences, interactions between autism/adhd and gender, parenting as an autistic/adhd/multiply neurodivergent person, PDA, disclosure and self-advocacy in professional and personal relationships, unlearning ableism and the social model of disability, and developing positive autistic/neurodivergent identity.

The purpose of autistic and neurodivergent identity consultation is NOT to determine whether or not you are autistic and/or ADHD according to diagnostic criteria...it is to accept self-diagnosis/identification as valid or process previous diagnosis, and move forward from the question of "am I?" to explore the question of "so what does this mean for me?"

*These sessions are NOT clinical services, and there is no diagnosis provided. For folks looking for formal diagnostic evaluation services, please join our evaluation waitlist.
